We all want life to be a certain way. We want the conditions to be just so, and life doesn’t always cooperate. Maybe it does for awhile, which makes us want to hold on tight to how things are, but then things change. Often we react by blaming ourselves or others or the situation. We might become aggressive. Or perhaps we feel victimized and resign. But clearly, none of these reactions are helpful.
Life is 10% of what happens and 90% of how you react to it. In life, attitude is everything; it is what shapes our beliefs and our desires. Harsh times will occur throughout our lives, but it is up to us how we interpret them. We are always in control of our emotions despite any given situation.
The way a person decides to respond to certain occurrences is what will shape his or her feelings, actions and results. It all lies within ourselves to be successful in life or not.
Knowledge comes from everything we do and everything that happens to us. We learn valuable lessons over the course of time based on our experiences and the ways in which we react to them. Every hardship presents an opportunity, we just need to recognize that instead of letting it defeat us. Your thoughts and attitude change your experiences and shape your life.
The only environment we have control of is our internal one, so the way we interpret situations is the only control we have over them. Do not let something dictate the way you react to things. You need to look within yourself and realize that you have the power to make things happen. We are a sum of all of our life’s experiences, so use these past lessons to help better your present situation.
Summing-up: It doesn’t matter what is happening. What matters is how we respond. How we respond is what determines our happiness and peace of mind.
