A goal without a plan is just a wish, and so it is true of any plan without a commitment. Promises and hopes are a good beginning point and they must be followed up with a commitment, plans and action to be realized.
Unless commitment is made and plans put in place there are only hopes and promises. Now nothing is wrong with hopes and promises but realize that they are not commiments. Doing so will save us lots of time that we can use to focus on those things we are committed to doing.
Once we have collected a host of necessary information to ensure that we can plan effectively, now it’s time to make the commitment. Promises are empty without commitment and action. It doesn’t matter what the promise is about, it matters how you follow up the promise, what comes next? Do you remember the promise, do you forget that you made a promise because you are not really committed to the outcome?
Commitment is the path that takes you to the win. Have a plan—a true step-by-step procedure for moving yourself from Point A to Point B. Otherwise, you are “all talk and no action”!
Summing-up: Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes… but no plans.
